A/Prof Simon Conn awarded a coveted grant from the Ray and Shirl Norman Cancer Research Trust

A team of researchers from the CCB, the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the University of Queensland have just been awarded a coveted grant from the Ray and Shirl Norman Cancer Research Trust for their world-class research into how mutations which lead to cancer arise! While it has long-been accepted that external factors are uniquely responsible for a variety of cancers, the team, led by A/Prof Simon Conn from the CCB, have made ground-breaking discoveries to show that naturally occurring molecules can also cause these mutations. The team hopes their research will assist with diagnosis and guiding the treatment of cancers, in particular infant leukaemia.
