Congratulations to the CCB's Dr Philip Gregory and Dr Tessa Gargett who have received a Principal Researcher Fellowship and an Early Career Fellowship respectively, from
Cancer Council SA’s Beat Cancer Project! Phil’s research will use new strategies to detect cancers cells that gain aggressive properties and spread through the body. This information will lead to earlier diagnosis and better treatment of patients with advanced breast and prostate cancer. Tessa’s project will genetically engineer immune cells from the patients’ own blood to treat their cancer. She will test this cell therapy in patients with melanoma and brain cancer.
